Quang Ninh plants 11,720 hectares of forest

The northern province of Quang Ninh planted 11,720 hectares of forest area, exceeding the year's plan by 17.2 percent and reaching 86.2 percent of the same period last year, according to the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Quang Ninh cares for 40,000 hectares of forest, in which 5,000 hectares are protective forest and 35,000 hectares are productive forest.

In addition, the province exploited 268,090 cubic meters of wood, 218,000 tonnes of wood chips and 105,706 cubic meters of wood for the coal industry.

Currently, localities and forest owners are continuing to manage, care for and protect planted forest, check preparations to plant forest, and apply strict measures against forest fire.
