Nearly VND800 million for construction of martyr Minh Ha statue in Quang Ninh province

So far, nearly 10 groups, individuals and agencies in Quang Yen town have raised nearly VND800 billion to build a statue of martyr Do Thi Sinh (code name: Minh Ha).

According to design, the statue will be 2.5 meters in height and made of white stone.

Martyr Minh Ha was born in 1925 in Canh Nau commune, Thach That district, Ha Tay province (Hanoi city at present). He participated in revolutionary activities from 1941. In April 1947, he moved to work to Yen Hung (Quang Yen town at present). In July 1947, he was arrested and tortured by French invaders. He sold his life dearly.

To show gratitude to the faithful communist, the first party cell of Phong Coc commune (Phong Coc precint – Quang Yen town at present) was established in 1948 and named Minh Ha party cell. In 1967-1968 school year, Ha Nam high school was established and named Minh Ha high school In 2005, state president posthumously bestowed the title of the hero of people’s armed force to martyr Minh Ha.

The statue is expected to be completed in April 2014. It has historical significance to educate revolutionary tradition to students at school as well as young people.
