Quang Ninh to host second OCOP fair in spring 2016

The second One Commune One Product (OCOP) fair will be held from January 29th to February 14th, 2016 in the northern province of Quang Ninh to contribute to providing additional agricultural products, foodstuff and beverage during the Lunar New Year (Tet holiday).

The fair will include about 200 kiosks, of which, 100 kiosks were displayed by Quang Ninh’s enterprises. In addition, 50 kiosks will be used to display products of other provinces and cities nationwide and the will be rest for trade booths.

Under the framework of the fair, there will be a competition on assessing and ranking OCOP products to honour high-quality well -designed products, creating the impetus to gradually improve the quality of OCOP products.

The “Quang Ninh province - One commune, one specific product” programme, launched in October, 2013, aimed to develop and promote traditional products with competitive advantage, contributing to restructuring the economy in urban Quang Ninh and satisfying the criteria on “economy and organizational form of production", a national criteria for building a new rural area.

The programme also targets to increase the per capita income of local people, create more employment opportunities, protect the environment and maintain social stability.
