Construction of Bach Dang bridge completed

The final segments of Bach Dang bridge connecting the northern port city of Hai Phong and the northern coastal province of Quang Ninh were joined at a ceremony in Quang Ninh province on Saturday.

The bridge connects the northern economic triangle, linking the Ha Long - Hai Phong Expressway with the Hanoi - Hai Phong Expressway. Addressing the ceremony, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Organization Commission Pham Minh Chinh said the bridge is expected to help Quang Ninh attract more investment, thus contributing to boosting the local socio-economic development.  The bridge is more than three kilometers long and 25 meters wide, with four lanes allowing speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour. The bridge will help shorten the distance between Hanoi and Quang Ninh from 175 kilometres to 125 kilometres as well as cut travelling time between the two localities by half.
