Quang Ninh seizes illegally transported pangolins

The Quang Ninh Provincial Customs Department has announced that on June 22 the unit seized a car illegally transporting 71 live pangolins, weighing 220kg in Bai Chay ward, Ha Long city.

The total value of the pangolins is estimated at over VND1 billion.

These pangolins belong to Group IIB, the group of rare animals restricted from exploitation or use for commercial purposes.

In the afternoon of the same day, the customs force handed the case over to the Quang Ninh provincial Forest Management force to handle./
