Northern province gives mid-Autumn presents to poor children

To help disadvantaged children in remote, border and coastal areas welcome the Mid-Autumn festival, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, in the northern province of Quang Ninh has mobilized the didtribution of some 5,000 gifts for the children.

The presents, worth over VND500 million were donated by individuals, agencies and enterprises

As well as organizing the collection and distribution of the gifts the Youth Union worked with relevant agencies to deliver art performances to the children.

According to Hoang Ba Nam, Secretary of the provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, mid-Autumn presents have also been given to child patients at hospitals, while a lot of mid-Autumn programs have been organised with a focus on promoting love for the sea and islands.

The provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has distributed nearly 15,000 presents to disadvantaged children in the provinces since 2010. The organization hopes to promote young people’s role in protecting and caring for disadvantaged children./.
