Over 1,000 athletes compete in Quang Ninh provincial Sports Festival

The eighth Quang Ninh provincial Sports Festival opened on April 8, attracting more than 1,000 athletes.

Themed “Quang Ninh Physical Training and Sports - Health Improved - Human Resources Created”, the four-day festival aims to evaluate the development of the local physical training and sports movement, encourage locals to further do physical exercises and play sports as well as lift the movement “All people take part in physical exercises following Uncle Ho’s example” to a new height.

Before the opening ceremony of the festival, athletes competed in several events of the total 17 events for 159 sets of medals. The teams of Cam Pha city temporarily topped the group category with 32 gold medals.

The top athletes of the festival will be admitted to the provincial team to participate in the Eighth National Sports Festival.
