Ha Long: National Action Month for Children 2018 launched

Under the theme “ For children's safe and healthy life in digital world”, the 2018 National Action Month for Children 2018 was launched at the ceremony organised by the Ha Long City People’s Committee of on May 29.

Children who have hard life in Ha Long city were granted with scholarships by the Association in Support of Handicapped and Orphans of Quang Ninh.

As reported, a variety of policies and programs on protecting and taking care of children living in Ha Long city have been conducted in order to ensure the children’s rights. To date, 100% of the children with difficult life have been supported; 100% of U6 children have been provided with medical care insurances; the number of undernourish and underweight children has decreased by 5,05% and 4.7% , respectively.

During the action month, a wide range of activities will focus on raising awareness and responsibility of organisations, enterprises, schools and families about ensuring the children’s safe and healthy living conditions in the digital era, providing children with skills to safely access the internet and to prevent them from accidents occuring in their dailylife, to protect them against bad effects, and offering them the best conditions to join useful activities during their summer vacation.

On this occasion, 12 children who have hard life in Ha Long city were granted with scholarships by the Association in Support of Handicapped and Orphans of Quang Ninh; 20 children were presented with gifts by the Ha Long City People’s Committee. Also at the ceremony, 30 organizations donated money for the Protecting Children Fund with the total amount of over VND180 million.
